What makes someone employable? Like the quest for the Holy Grail, employability is something that all young people today strive to find. But employability is not a tangible object, it cannot be touched, handled or even consumed, but we know it's something you want to possess. Time and time again different research has shown that volunteering can help enhance a person's employability, often bridging the gap between formal education and the practicalities of the work place. In fact the findings are so conclusive that we have used them as a basis for our Easter program, with the front of the opportunities booklet stating 88% of 500 employers thought volunteering could give young people communication and team working skills. CSV have released data that backs this up, with all their volunteers stating that they had thought their volunteering experiences had made them more employable. Check out the story here
